Management GroupPeter ParchmentProject Manager Mr. Parchment has a bachelor degree in Mass Communications at CARIMAC, University of the West Indies (UWI) Mona (1990) and a graduate of the Consortium Graduate School (now SALISES), UWI Mona, with a Masters of Science Degree in Development Studies (1999). Peter is currently the Senior Director of Strategic Planning, Policy Research and Evaluation at the Ministry of Justice, which he joined in February 2006. Previously, he was the Director for Policy Formulation, Monitoring & Evaluation at the National Family Planning Board (NFPB) for three years. Peter has over 10 years experience in project planning and management with the Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF) and with the Jamaica Conservation & Development Trust. In the latter, he was instrumental in the preparation and execution of community based conservation projects in the Blue and John Crow Mountains National Park. As a Community Outreach Officer with the Forestry & Soil Conservation Department (FSCD) & NRCA (now NEPA) from 1990-1994, Peter was actively involved in the establishment of Local Advisory Committees in three areas in the Blue and John Crow Mountains National Park (B&JCMNP). He also developed and executed community awareness programmes for communities in Portland, St. Andrew, St. Thomas and St. Mary to increase community acceptance of environmental conservation and the National Park. |
