Main Functions

This Unit has the overall responsibility within the Ministry for the procurement of works, goods and services, as well as monitoring service contracts by  ensuring that the Government of Jamaica Procurement Guidelines are adhered to by  promoting efficiency, transparency and equity of awarding government contracts. It ensures that there is an inventory of all government-owned furniture, equipment, machinery and tools in adherence to the Government of Jamaica Procedures Manual for the Control of Government Furniture, Office Machines and Equipment.

The Unit also maintains the systems outlined in the Control of Government Motor Vehicles Procedure Manual by ensuring that there is an inventory of all government-owned and operated motor vehicles,  the Office Services Unit  has the overall responsibility of maintaining a clean and safe work environment, manages staff relocation and maintains a moderate inventory of office supplies.
